Title: True Love and the Path of Life

Author: Silence the Poet

Chapter 1

One day, while wandering around the forests east of Minoc, I chanced upon a beautiful wolf. I took to taming this beautiful creature, and named her True Love. I decided that I would make a statement, seeing as none pet I had ever had had made the trip from Minoc to Yew on foot, and seeing as I didn't beleive in true love, I decided I would take my pet with me to Yew to make this statement. It was then that we departed.

And not more than a feet out of the woods, and a troll attacked me and True Love. It took a mighty chuck out of me, but I refused to let it touch the wolf. I may not have beleived in true love then, but I still wasn't gong to make a false statement by letting it die easily.

The troll fell eventually, and although I was rather scathed, and True Love was also, we escaped with our lives, and faced down our first challenge together. Along the path we took, we faced many perils, from small, easy obsticles, to grand obsitcles like the troll. And everytime, we faced down the challenge, never running. At one point, we faced an orc mage even with a little help from a friend (an air elemental wandering to close at the time and decided my music made it mad at the mage. It made short work of the mage, and after a quick thanking of it, me and True Love were on our way).

We managed to make it to Yew, after a long journey. But upon entering Yew, we were assulted by a snake. I was fool-hearty at this time, and thought it was nothing more than a little challenge. I did away with the snake quickly, but not before it bit True Love. True love stumbled around a bit. I was too late, for she was poisoned. I managed to cure her, but because of my fool-heartiness, I almost lost true love. I learned my lesson from that trip, and it made me beleive again in true love, for True Love is the only pet I have ever had to make with me the trip from Minoc to Yew.

Isn't it funny how when you set out to prove life wrong, it is you who is proven wrong.
