The Lilly
Title: The Lilly
Author: Tasselhoff
I was born to a
Priestess of
Takhisis. I lived in
the Storm Keep,
training to become a
Knight of Takhisis.
My father was a
knight of the lilly, a
warrior. He raised
me. I did not love my
mother. She did not
love my father. He
loved her with all his
heart. But she could
love only her dark
goddess. When I was
five, my mother and I
were trapped in a
fire, and she saved
her holy objects and
left me to burn. Thats
when I know she did
not love me. My
father broke open
the door and rescued
me. He trained me in
the ways of the
sword, and taught me
honor. But I did not
take to these lessons,
or to his dark goddess.
I did not want to be
honorable, did not
want to fight for
Takhisis. But still, I
listened to him out of
love. At the age of 18,
I was initiated into the
knights of the lilly.
My father was
proud.
The next day, we led a march on the High clerist's Tower. I fought at my father's side. I dreamed of that day, but when it came, disaster struck. I froze. I was branded a coward. I watched my father's dragon plunge from the sky, saw him perish at the hands of a golden dragon. I ran from that place. My dragon, Bolt, was loyal to me. She took me away from there. I traveled south, to the ice wall. I wanted to die. I sent Bolt away, but she would not leave. I was walking along the ice wall when I saw something odd. It looked like a cave. I went through it, and was greeted with a enormour labyrinth carved into the ice. The tunnels twisted and turned. I saw a few tunnels where the snow was stained red with blood. I avoided those. I emerged onto a huge tundra of snow. There were a few roads that were clearly cut into the earth. One had small feet an hoopak marks on it. Kender trail. I avoided that. Another trail had the marks of ratmen. I avoided that as well. The third path had human tracks. I told bolt to follow that.
We came upon a city. They told us that were were on the continent of Nalasalon. We traveled above the ice plains, following the rivers. We saw a small building made of a blood-red stone. I told Bolt to set down here. There was an old woman inside. She did not speak, but she walked up to me and placed a hand upon my forehead. She showed me a blue portal, and I knew I had to go there. It was in the forests outside of Quailnost. Before I left, I asked the old woman who she was. She jus smiled and showed me an amber amulet with the symbol of Chislev upon it. I told Bolt to go to Qualinost, and we traveled over the ice plains of Nalasalon, then over the ice wall, and finally we were in Anasalon again. The trip had taken us many months, but as we soared above the forest, a glint of blue caught my eye. I told Bolt to land, and I steped throught the portal. I came into this odd land of Fellucia, in the forests outside of Cove. I took up residence there. And this is where I live. I soon learned that I had a sister named Takhin, and that she was a priestess of Chislev! That was why the old woman had helped me. I finally met with my sister, and she told me the thing that I had longed to hear. The my mother did love me. And that now, I would never be alone.
