Title: Darkest Days

Author: Silence the Poet

***************

Sheep wandering through the meadow

"look out" cried the little one

the wolf took down the black sheep

and every one looked away

***************

True love embraces the moment's will

Desire holds the moment still

The breath of sweet lovers combine

and in sweet spirit, intert'wine

And angels bells doth ring

And the choir doth bring

the melody of ages, far away from harm,

and ages last, and angels charm,

but all these things I sing of today,

I tell you not to hold self at bay,

waiting for one to come before you

for true love doth not exist, and I implore you

to heed my warning, don't let your soul drift,

for true love and it's other myths.

***************

The brightest day, with sun shining

I see no clouds in the sky

the bright feathered birds fly

but the darkest hour of my

soul is never-ending

the darkest hour, my eyes are clouded

and I leave in haste

my death does wait

for the loneliest place

is losing your wed

***************

we heard the warning on the news today

it was coming this way

it would be here in one day

and everyone was held at bay

on that mournful day

in that deadly silence

as that feat of man-made science

made its deadly path

all bowed at its wrath

and when I went outside

they told me to abide

and to come inside

to watch it make its way

on that day

that mournful, mournful day

they showed it on the television

the death toll had risen

as it made its trail

making the world a hell....

it ended there in our home

as we read the holy tome

and the world ended in neither a whimper or a bang

and no one since has ever sang

of the day the world died

and every living thing cried

as the virus destroyed an ancient alliance

on that day

that mournful, mournful day
