"The Teachings of Hell"

Translated from the language of the arcane by (great flourish of the mage's signature)

masgister magus et patricius tethias Augustus Kilcannon veneteer III

The language of the Abyssal plane is very similiar to the language we speak -- 'tis phonetic in nature but comprised of very different symbols. The Abyssal language can be approximated in our alphabet, but many sounds exist in the language that are lost in the conversation. The structure of the language is very similar to our own, where the subject and object are determined by inflection and pronunciation.

[editor's note: The language of the arcane is in fact structured very differently from Britannian -- in Britannian, the object, or the predicate of a sentence is placed after the verb, whilst the subject is usually before the verb in simple sentences. In the arcane language, word order does not make a difference -- form and pronunciation do.]

The words of the Abyssial language are quite simple in structure. The entire language consists of only a few syllables. These syllables in turn form combinations that define words.

Ca, ti, ma, so, ira, mir, ip, sil, mar, ren, dax, im, les, us, co, ra, and za.

These syllables form the core of the Abyssial language. Through combinations of these syllables the entire language is constructed.
