January 17, 2010 - Royal Banquet
A Royal Banquet was held in Castle British to welcome the new Captain of the Royal Guard, Commander Christine Keel, and to knight a 'hero' known as Hercules. A large selection of delicacies from all over the realm awaited to tempt those invited.

As the guests talked with Queen Dawn, the new Commander of the Royal Guard, and Minister Grey, a suspicious looking woman dressed as a servant made her way through the crowd. Eventually, someone noticed that she had a hair dye stain on the back of her neck and that she failed to respond to requests. When confronted, the woman pulled a dagger before vanished from sight and has not been seen since.

When it came time for Hercules to be knighted, he was nowhere to be found. Several people questioned why this man was to be honored, while one, Galen, said he had evidence that Hercules was a fraud and a kidnapper. Dismayed by this news, Queen Dawn traveled to Delucia where Galen had found the golden hind in the stables. Apparently, the hind was in fact the missing zookeeper, Lady Artemis - once she was returned to Verity Isle - said Hercules had put a bag over her head and brought her to the Lost Lands.

A drunken Hercules eventually stumbled into the banquet hall where he was confronted by many angry citizens. His rude and boorish behavior eventually landed him in a cell in the Yew Prison.

February 6th, 2010 - Cleanup
Commander Keel assembled the V.R.G. at the Britain Counselor's Hall so they could investigate Hercules' reported 'accomplishments' in Ilshenar and the Abyss.

The defeat of the Ilshnarian Ant Lion was to be investigated first, so the Guard headed to the gypsy camp south of the Compassion Shrine where a golden egg case had been seen. There the Guard encountered evil ant lions working with ratmen to terrorize the gypsies. Once they had been defeated, a book written by the creature slain by Hercules was recovered.

Hercules had slain a noble creature, placing the gypsies in danger. Seeking to rectify the drunkard's error, the Guards helped the ant lion's offspring to hatch. They then led it to the Wisp Dungeon where memory crystals had been hidden, encountering several more evil creatures along the way. Fortunately, the larval ant lion made it to Ramona the Gypsy who was watching over the memories.

Ramona asked nine questions, each correct answer opened a magically sealed box containing a memory crystal. Once all nine were opened, the larval ant lion absorbed all her mother's memories and transformed into the new Ilshnarian Ant Lion. She shared with the Guard information about their next destination, and how to deal with the immortal hydra - the guard had to break it's heart.

Thanking the Ant Lion, the Guard rushed off to the Abyss where they found the hydra near the Medusa's Lair. Once its minions were defeated, they sought the method to end its life forever. Fortunately, another hydra appeared - and was quickly slain. This second hydra was found to have been the consort of the immortal. Her death caused it such grief that he willingly relinquished his immortality to be with her in death.

Will all three of Hercules' mistakes corrected, the Guard returned to Commander Keel at the Counselor's Hall. There they learned that Hercules had escaped his prison cell by bribing his guards. Angry shouts gave way to plans for the scoundrel's recapture...

March 11th, 2010 - Drunken Boar
Hercules camp had been located on the Tokuno island of Homare-jima attempting to capture the revered Mt. Sho Boar so that he may eat the poor creature. Apparently, he had fed the board large quantities of ale in an attempt to marinate its immortal flesh…

The Guard set out to speak to a member of the Kentaurosu-Ronin, a nomadic tribe of swine herding centaur who had made Tokuno their home. A centaur named Daichi stood watch over an empty pen just south of the Winter Spur, lamenting the loss of the tribe’s prized pog. Hercules had plied the unsuspecting tribe into revealing their secrets with alcohol, and then herded their pog into the frozen wastes to the north.

The Guard was asked to help return the pog to Daichi’s pen in exchange for help with the Hercules and the Boar. The chilled pigs were located clustered just outside the cave which leads to the Spur, surrounded by hungry Yama-uba. Some of the Guard set upon the undead, while the rest tried to herd the pigs back to their master.

Eventually, Daichi was satisfied that enough of the pog had been returned and set off with the Guard to Hercules’ camp. The intoxicated Mt. Sho Boar was swiftly located and brought back to the centaur’s pen where it was eventually cured of its inebriation and released.

Before the night was over, however, Commander Keel led the Guard to Trinsic which had suddenly fallen under attack by bizarre sea creatures. The Guard fought their way from Barrier Isle into the city to discover the invasion to be led by an intelligent giant squid-like creature who accused the city of polluting their habitat. Apparently, Hercules had diverted a river to clean out the stalls in the First Trinsic Stablery and that was what had befouled the sea. The squid agreed to leave the city in peace once it was agreed the area would be cleaned and the river repaired.

March 19, 2010 - The Morrigan
As Commander Keel spoke to the Guard, who had gathered for a training session, a green clad warrior with a spear entered appeared and claimed Britannia had dishonored him. Apparently, Hercules had tricked the warrior, who name was Cuchulainn, to avoid a duel.

Cuchulainn led the Guard to the Crane Marsh on Homare-jima where a pack of wolves were causing a disturbance. Once they were dealt with, a being called the Morrigan appeared and prophesized the death of everyone present for slaying her pet bull.

The Dishonored warrior said that Hercules had taken another of the Morrigan’s bulls to the Hedgemaze in the Spiritwood forest. The Guard travelled to the maze where they encountered several creatures which appeared to be aspects of the Morrigan who attempted to hamper their search.

The Guard slew the second bull within the center of the maze, and was then set upon by an enraged Morrigan. Her defeat was swift, causing her to curse the Guard and leave our world forever.

The criminal Hercules was not found in the Hedgemaze, and remains at large.

March 27, 2010 - The Mares of Jhelom
In Felucca, Hercules somehow managed to steal the four Mares of Jhelom, evil carnivorous horses which viciously devoured human flesh. Where he took them and why were a mystery, but a veterinarian named Rosamund agreed to perform a ritual which would summon them.

She brought them forth on the island north of Jhelom using the wanton violence of the facet’s inhabitants. One by one the V.R.G. slew the beasts while dodging the Feluccan murderers. Very few bothered to ask why anyone cared that the Mares had been stolen...
