Stratos and Lithos went to war. The flying creatures and loyal of Ter Mur took to the skies with Stratos, but the fallen and diabolical creatures of the Abyss joined with Lithos. Stratos had taught the gargoyle people her art of Theurgy.

The Queens of old took the stone shard from the temple of Lithos, hoping to weaken the Mountain King. The Heart of Earth is one of the five fragments of the great Blackrock Obelisk. The Queens of old forged it into something great. It was now a hammer that will smash any evil. Unfortunately, betrayal almost lost the war for the Mystical Voice. A thief stole the Breath of Air, the great relic of Stratos. Smashed into three pieces, the relic was scattered. Only one was recovered, kept safe in a reliquary of Ter Mur.

The second piece was taken by the Necromancer. Long dead, his origin unknown, he was Lithos's first undead servant. His name was Lothian. He brought the piece to the land cleansed by the Anorlor. It is believed that Lothian was of that world, born of a great city, which fell into fire with shattering of Sosaria. It is said Lothian practiced his art in the Dungeon of the Ankh, where his foul hands raised armies for his lord, Lithos.

The final piece was stolen by the foul An-kal-lem. Cursed as traitors, they fled with the piece. These wretched souls faced what they had coming, forced to serve the dark forces they thought would empower them.

Stratos was made desperate by the loss of so much of her power. She fled for a year, leaving the gargoyle to suffer her war for her. She returned with a spell, In Vas Ju Mani Hur, similar to mana to the Cleansing Winds, In Vas Mani Hur. The greatest of Ter Mur's Mystics helped her cast the spell, not knowing that their life blood would pay the great cost of such a spell. Lithos was imprisoned, and eventually, his armies of undead crushed.

However, in grief for their fallen and sacrificed children, the Queens of old turned their back on Stratos. They turned their back on Theurgy with its ties to her Mystical Voice. Their art and resource created Mysticism.
