The Awakening, Act II: The Mage's Creed
Title: The Mage's Creed
Author: Mavara
All who train under the
guidance of the Elders of
our society in the ways
of magery must take the
ancient creed of the
mages, set forth by the
Matriarchs in their
wisdom of eons past. The
creed is a solemn and
sacred vow, and to take
it lightly or mock it is a
serious offense against
those who have abided by
it and let it's guidance
watch over them.
The Creed of the Mage
In the wisdom of the
Matriarchs and the
blessings of Meerkind, I
shall strive to use my
magic for the betterment
of our people and our
world, and never for the
sole advantage of myself.
I shall strive to use my
magic as judiciously and
cleanly as possible, never
stealing violently from the
void which grants us our
strengths but borrowing
and accepting that which
it gives freely. I shall
strive to honor my
ancestors and their
sacrifices, to honor my
trainer and master, and
to honor my family
through the use of my
magic. I shall strive to
never tarnish the
traditions that I have
inherited from my lineage,
and I shall strive to
bring glory and pride to
my family.
