Author: Jill Ashcroft

Part 1

Jill was born, Jill Aeilene Morris, and raised in a small community located near the lake on the Eastern side of the Deep Forest. Her parents were both bowyers and loggers for the community, and were well liked. But during an expedition into some nearby ruins, vast amounts of undead came swarming out of the lake and ruins to destroy the small city. Jill was chased through the forest until she came to a small clearing in the moonlit woods, covered by flowers. She fell to her knees there, and wept over the death of all of her family and friends. Meanwhile, the undead minions surrounded her, but would not enter the clearing. Finally, an incorporeal ghoul floated over the girl, and changed its appearance to appear to be a kindly old woman. She informed the young girl that she was entering a new stage in her life, and that she need not fear the undead surrounding her. Her name was what made Jill think though. Lathiari, the age-old criminal whose name was whispered by parents to ensure their kids stayed out of trouble, had a sister named Kyrnia. Jill immediately started wondering as to the identity of the one other living being around her, but was unable to ask her co-inmate, before the Master of the Ruins found her and the ghoul wandering. Lathiari himself spoke vast words of power, and before Jill's very eyes, she didst watch as the ghoul dissipated into bits of fine dust. Then the mighty liche turned its vile attentions upon her, the prisoner of six years, who did choose now as the best time for escape. She did run from the liche, and his screaming minions, past the underground rivers to the intersection. She did remember the ghoul's warnings about taking the left turn, the passageway to freedom and also the knowledge that the other prisoner, her only friend for the
