Fun with Plants

There's a little mad scientist in all of us. Why not indulge his whims on occasion with a bit of fun?

-Starting from seed-

*Exploding seeds*

Sulphurous ash
Glass bottle
Pine cones
Large iron pot
Cotton

Grind ash in mortar until liquid. Pour into glass bottle. HANDLE WITH CARE and set aside.

Heat pinecones over open flame in a large metal pot. As they warm, the cones will open and the seeds become accessible. Cull seeds and drop into ash liquid. Soak for one full moon phase. Carefully drain off the liquid and allow seeds to dry.

Pack cotton around seeds for storage in a leather pouch.

Lob at unsuspecting targets, watching from a good, well-covered hiding place.

Giggle at your handiwork.

*Vicious Vines*

Nightshade
Glass bottle
Ivy cuttings
Pot of dirt

In mortar, finely grind nightshade into a thick liquid. Remove excess stems and leaves. (Wash hands carefully with soap and water after handling.)

Select a healthy stalk of vine, preferably something with needles or thorns, between 2" and 3" in length. Cut at an angle with sharp scissors, careful not to bruise or fray. Soak cutting for several days in nightshade solution. As roots appear, transplant into potted dirt. Moisten dirt every other day with additional nightshade solution. When plant has developed a healthy root system, it is ready for transplant in a well-tended garden. When scratched by the plant, the garderner will suddenly feel sleepy, or, if the solution was strong enough, may even fall into a permanent sleep. If the garden has poppies, all the better. Hoe hoe!

*Wizard Willow*

(Note: Though the primary ingredient is no longer available, there have been documented sucesses achieved by substituing corpser seeds. Reaper seed has also been attempted, but the results were fatal. Also note that one must have some keen knowledge of magic to create this.)

Metal spoon
1 vial of blood, ancient wyrm
1 vial of silver serpent venom
