May the 10th:
I'm about to depart on
this "secret" mission
Magnus Grey is sending
me on. Agricultural
Minister with delusions of
grandeur, but he had
signed papers from Lord
Casca the second time
he bothered me. I would
have ignored him that
time as well and gone
about with the survey of
Minoc's new tunnels, but
for this official notice.
I didn't start this new
assignment right away. I
wanted to spend the
night in Minoc packing
before heading in the
southern jungles. May be
unexplored mines and all,
but also bugs and snakes.
Give me Minoc any day. I
get the feeling I'm being
watched. I saw a few
strange people around
town today. I tried to
approach one, but he
ducked into a mine. I
hope he gets lost down
there like all mysterious
people. Maybe Magnus will
join him. I need to
remember to take a few
bottles with me for this
trip.
May the 11th:
I don't want this getting
damp, so leaving it at
home. Someone was joking
when I had breakfast at
the inn about some
company out of Vesper
requesting miners "willin'
to travel." Must be tough
with Vesper living in our
shadow so long. Everyone
knows only good mining is
in Minoc. Saw a few
strangers at breakfast,
but they ate quietly and
didn't request I go feed
myself to jungle bugs, so
I have no problem with
them. My breakfast ale
was flat. Bother.
