My studies of Blackrock
have lead to my current
area of research: magical
leylines. I believe that
part of the problem with
the Blackrock detector
was that it’s spell
connected directly with all
blackrock and formed for
that instant a new
leyline. Blackrock has so
much inherent magical
potential, that entangling
that much power resulted
in an ether snap. An
either snap is a term I
made to describe a
sudden discharge of mana
along a leyline. In this
case, the snap resulted in
a rift that released the
Shadowlords. It is
fortunate that only
something this terrible
happened. I shudder to
think what would happen
if such a wound was
created at the center of
a leyline nexus we cared
to use, say the leyline
that connects the Shrines
and places of Virtue,
centered at the mainland
Britannia Shrine of
Spirituality. While not the
“true” Shrine of
Spirituality, it is still a
place of great power.
