Bio:
Nosfentor is one of 3 Demonic Wraiths known as the Shadowlords. Each Shadowlord is devoted to, arose out of, and is primarily constituted by the essence of one of the 3 Anti-Principles.

  • Astaroth, the Shadowlord of Hatred.
  • Faulinei, the Shadowlord of Falsehood.
  • Nosfentor, the Shadowlord of Cowardice.

As indicated, Nosfentor is the Shadowlord of Cowardice , the opposite of the Principle of Courage. Traditionally, Nosfentor is considered the "female" Shadowlord, and the other two male. To what degree this represents an actual "gender" in the sense we think of the term, as opposed to merely an affect, is not known. Nosfentor definitely appeared, however, as a female.

Along with the other two Shadowlords, Nosfentor was the driving force behind a series of horrifying events that unfolded in the realm over a period of several years. Their attempts to enter our realm drove a Tokunoese woman named Inu to madness, corrupted the Moongates, led to the destruction of the City of Magincia, and led directly to their puppet Casca being installed on the Throne of Britannia.

Nosfentor's presence appears to have been personally felt more than the other two. Her followers, the Triad of Evil, were involved in a number of kidnappings, murders, and particularly brutal rapes. Among the kidnappings included the famous reporter and librarian, Martyna Z'muir, in whose Library this volume appears. As the War of Shadows progressed, Nosfentor and her minions directly challenged the High Council and other institutions on several occasions . Aside from Martyna's kidnapping, other notable examples included the disappearance, and apparent death, of the then-Justicar Woodrow Call of the High Court of Britannia.

Some stories hold that the Shadowlords were created by the shattering of the Gem of Mondain. (This is hinted at in Sherry the Mouse's book "My Story.") Some stories hold that their origins are more particular, and more human. Specifically, it is sometimes said that the three wraiths emerged from what is commonly called a "love triangle" that proved to be particularly vicious and ended in particular horror (as such matters are often wont to end). It is also sometimes said that they conquered many-a-world before we proved to be a tad much for them to handle successfully.

It is also clear that, whatever plane they hailed from, they were using the Ethereal Void in an attempt to gain entry into our world, and that their efforts were opposed by the Time Lord.

The Shadowlords are currently dead as near as anyone can tell, having met their end in a dungeon underneath the Fire Temple, within which they were seeking to recreate Mondain's Gem of Immortality. The forces that finally brought them down were personally led by Dawn, currently Queen of Britannia at the time of writing.

Sadly, the Shadowlords' place in Hell is more-than-assured. Their meddlings cost many lives, many souls, drained the treasury, destroyed cities, and created fissures between people that will never be fixed. Britannia will, I predict, never fully recover.

Some of their followers constitute a Faction on the Felucca facet, one of four constantly vying for control of that dead world.
