Bio:
Kronos was a long-respected mage and scholar of the Lycaeum in Moonglow. He developed a quite proper, quite scholarly fascination with the most dangerous substance known to creation: Blackrock. And, like any curious academic would, he wished to have more samples to study. To this end he decided to make the central event of his academic career the construction of a device designed to detect all the blackrock in the world.
Like any big public construction project is bound to do, particularly one with such dangerous implications, the blackrock detector ran into the usual cost overruns, funding sources drying up, prevailing wage disputes, and the like. The project was finally completed with the use of government money provided by the Ruling Council. And, like any "mad mage" (the designation usually attached to Kronos these days), he was also exceptionally charismatic, attracting the loyalty of many students, assistants, and apprentices. These included Wexton, who was charged with the task of gathering materials for the device.
Kronos's meddling had not gone unnoticed by Britannia's enemies. Working through one of Kronos's assistants, Melissa, the vile Shadowlords manipulated the Blackrock Detector in order to blow a hole in the fabric of reality, opening a gate to the Ethereal Void, enabling the Shadowlords to enter Britannia, through the Ethereal Void, from whatever vile, devastated world they had come from. Kronos was slaughtered by the Shadowlord of Hate.
The legacy of this gifted academic is, thus, one of unintended, but ultimately predictable, evil.
