Bio:
Jaana was a great Druid, Warrior, and Judge of the realm. She was said to be from the strange world known as "Earth" from which Lord British and The Stranger Who Slew Mondain (also known as The Avatar to some) was from. She was said to travel with The Avatar.
She was known as a great judge, fair-minded and clear-headed. She has not been seen in some time. She is immortalized in our realm in many ways. One of these is Jaana's Staff, an "Artifact," some some call it, that can be found in the Dungeons of Sin. Though no particular exploits of her drinking are recorded, her name also graces the rare "Jaana's Hangover Remedy," which does what the name implies.
The following story, illustrating part of the nature and some of the limits of the Virtue of Justice, concerns her. It is not known if the story is at least partially true or is entirely apocryphal, but either way it is instructive.
It is said that, during a war between Humanity and Goblins, the humans captured a great goblin king, and brought him to Jaana, a judge at the time, for trial. She informed them, "this is war, just kill him." The people insisted that the king be tried, so Jaana donned her robes and listened to their case, heard about the goblin king's terrible crimes.
However, Jaana acquitted the king. His crimes were in the course of a war and besides, he was a goblin, not subject to humanity's laws. The proper course, she informed the people again, was to kill him in the course of war, not to parade him around for a trial.
The people were outraged as Jaana set the goblin king free, but their rage did not last long. Being a goblin, the king could not contain his bloodlust and attacked Jaana immediately upon being released.
Jaana killed him in lawful self defense.
