Dear Zachary,

I apologize for abandoning my post and convincing others to join my cause. I am a changed man. This man I met at the docks explained everything: our failures, my guilt, the state of our world. I leave a book that will maybe explain. I will regain my honor through service to this new community, this new village. Thank you for your friendship over the years.
