Title: Vasbeninlem

Author: James

Magnus,

I have compiled the information from the two Principia Daemonis translations. I consulted with several experts and noted their opinions. Let me know if there are other questions you wanted answered.

-James

Original Ritual:

Mur enn vax enn fao enn esu Imi boe fao reh rox esx odb mon enn.
Imi boe nao reh faa enn hud enn xex odb Imi boe oba reh ofo enn hed enn.
Imi boe ibo reh lea enn lae odb. Imi boe vox reh lae odb bix enn hed enn.
Imi boe gau reh rox esx odb guh enn.
Lae boe han reh bir odb.

A few words were not found in Bertrand’s Dictionary, so none of the translation we have are complete. I have taken the liberty of making a few educated guesses.

I believe “Guh” stands for ornate patterns, similar to those found on the floor of “the Room of Infinity” in the Xenve An-amo-lem ruins.

Here is a translation with my notes in parenthesis:

The Ritual to Find the Scorched Ruby:

I. You will find the stones in the rubble.

(Bertrand has explained that “mon,” the word for rubble, is only used to describe willful destruction, usually in war. Possibly, Magincia?)

II. You will enter Fortress of enemy brothers.

(I believe this is the gargoyle ruins called Xenve An-amo-lem)

III. You will stand in the room of statues.

(I am told from various reports there is a room with several statues that was used by a gargoyle artisan.)

IV. You will wake the fallen artist.

(I believe the artist’s ghost must be woken directly by necromancy. Perhaps someone can be contracted in Umbra?)

V, You will lead him to the room of infinity.

(I am told there is a prophetic room with a lemniscate or infinity sign carved into the floor.)

VI. You will place the stones in the sign.

(Based on previous reports, I would place the stones in the center of each half of the lemniscate)

VII. The artist will carve the answer.

(I’m not sure what will happen, but it is possible that the artist will carve a new statue or simply unearth a previous work. Since the reports mentioned a statue in the dungeon talked, it is possible that talking to the statue will be necessary. A few possible words that may be necessary: kal – hello, lok – speak, lap – stone, and ski – knowledge.)

I suggest sending combat-capable agents on this mission. Since the lives in Xenve An-amo-lem did not end happily, it is possible that any spirits that remain will be violent. The ritual is also of demonic origin, making it dangerous. There are also Conclave demons to worry about. Good luck!
