The Sorcerer's Stone
Proper preparation cannot be stressed enough. One must follow the directions below to the absolute letter lest disasterous results befall the maker.
Into a large cauldron over a heavily stoked woodfire, add:
- 6 generous
bucketsful of murky
swampwater
- 2 bulbs of garlic
- 5 bitter root
- 12 hogwart (though a
substitution of doubled
nightshade will do)
- 4 firetoad hairs
- 8 gazer stems
- the limbs of a
kracken
- a handful of weeds
gathered by the full
moon from a cemetary
- one full set of
lich lips
Bring to a continuous boil, stirring only with a large metal pole.
Add:
- Corpse of a fallen
white knight, drained of blood and the major organs removed.
(Note: It is imperative that the corruption be achieved under the hand of the sorcerer to attain the integrity and quality of this ingredient.)
Boil until flesh falls away easily. Remove bones, saving marrow and returning it to the pot. Continue boiling for one full turn of the moon, allowing fire to burn low and the mixture to simmer gently. As liquids evaporate, the tallow will begin to harden. Render this until it forms a hard, stone-like substance. Place in a container with pebbles, tie to a wagon spoke, and tumble to a smooth finish.
