Chapter Four
In this chapter we will continue the discussion related to the principles surrounding resurrection and the rejoining of a soul to a body as well as the reunification of shattered souls.
In resurrection it is necessary to bring life back to the body of the fallen. By speaking the words of power "An Corp", if one is of sufficient skill and will, a spirit can be restored to corporeal form, although they will be in poor health when such is done.
Now in some cases, death has occurred a bit in the past. In order to rejoin the soul to the realm of the living it is necessary to find a personal artifact that he or she was attached to when alive. The more personal the item, the greater the chances that the resurrection spell will succeed. Note: See Graham's Botanica for the herbs and reagents needed for resurrection.
This last section we will go over in more detail as it was only touched upon in chapter three. Runification of a shattered soul. Let me first warn that attempting such a thing typically meets with failure unless the soul involved has strong magics associated with it and an even stronger desire to become whole. Most souls loose their sense of identification upon death, so it is rare to find an enlightened soul. Should you find such a soul you must gather the following items.
1) Personal items that
have relevance to the
spirit before it was
shattered.
2) Ample quantities of
mandrake root,
ginseng, spider silk
and garlic.
3) As this is a
necromantic spell,
quantities of bone,
executioner's hood and
blackmoor are also
needed.
4) If possible, have a
living relative of the
shattered one present
at the ceremony.
5) Grind all the
reagents in a mortar.
6) If a place of power
can be found and used,
do so. The magical
energies there will
help with the
spiritual bonding if
you have one present
that can channel them
7) A ring of fire.
This can be as simple
as a ring of campfires
or a ring of torches.
The firelight is said to
guide the spirit halves
back to each other.
Once all listed items have been gathered it is best to do the ceremony as soon as possible, so that all the reagents are fresh. Call upon the halves of the spirit, entreat them to come together, to remember the life they once had. Speak the words of power "An Corp" over the halves and if the bond is strong enough, the spirit will be unified. Then one only needs to resurrect the body.
