Title: Notes on Gargoyle War

Author: Minister Uskadesh

I have expressed my doubts about these strangers from Britannia, but young Zhah refuses to listen. She believes the pretty words and promises of this human queen. I am frustrated. I feel like I did several years ago when Erah instigated food riots that I had to quell. I knew Erah would remain a thorn if she were not killed or banished, but Zhah let pretty sentiment spare Erah's life. Zhah has the Passion required of a queen, but lacks Control and Diligence when it comes to security. This will end badly.

...

The human history is bloody, as I expected. While their means and methods are simple, they lack a culture of unity and Singularity. It is only a matter of time before they spill the blood of the gargoyle.

...

Humans attacking gargoyles in our own lands! This is unacceptable. Zhah has tried to explain that these Brothers of Valor are a splinter group, but if the humans can't control their own, perhaps we should subjugate the entire species.

...

My poor young queen, you do not realize how your friendship with these outsiders threatens us all. The ways to the Underworld should have been covered over. Strange ideas and magic slips into our world, some of it as malevolent as I warned. Human undead trying to sacrifice our world to their darkness? How much are we expected to take?

...

Xenve An-Amo-Lem? A cursed place. I would have no problems if the humans threw themselves at this particular death, but the key is sacred. My own Vid de Pri-tas took most of my life to earn. My service has been long and diligent. My mastery of the talwar and blades renowned. To share this great honor with an entire army of humans is unacceptable!

...

I have heard strange reports from northern fishing village. A few

flying scouts sent to that area never returned. I cannot trust this to dim children. I will go myself.

...

I cannot go into the details of what happened in the village. I do not know whom I can trust. I know now the power that the Pri-tas-lem should be working with. The humans are doomed and cursed. They will only drag us down as well.

...

It was good to see my beliefs confirmed with the death of this human leader. She was weak and foolish. I am told she embraced the man who killed her, allowing Passion to overcome Control and Diligence. She would have remained a poor influence on young Zhah. I do not understand what a rodent was doing on the casket?

...

I am being sent on an errand by the queen to see this Avery about his queen's death. I will sail to meet him with a crew I hand picked myself. I am to tell this Avery to head to Yew for the funeral.
