Bio:
Ramona the Gypsy is some kind of gypsy magic user. She does not appear to be a "nonna strega" (literally "grandmother witch," the lead female in a Gypsy encampment, tribe, or settlement), as she doesn't seem to actually have a leadership role. She is, however, apparently affiliated in some way with "Compassion Village," the name commonly ascribed by Britannians to the Gypsy encapment near the Compassion Shrine in Ilshenar.

Ramona was encountered by the Volunteer Royal Guard, under the leadership of Commander Christine Keel, as the Guard attempted to undo an evil committed by the would-be hero and drunkard Hercules. Specifically, Hercules had slain a mystical Ant Lion. Though the creature was the protector of Compassion Village, Hercules had somehow mistaken it for an enemy. The Guard was able to guide the Ant Lion's offspring to Ramona, who infused it with its mother's memories thus helping it on its way to take its mother's place as protector of Compassion Village. She also shared with the Guard information on how to defeat the immortal Stygian Hydra.
