Bio:
Walter Drake was an archaeologist who wish to devote himself to the study of the Dungeon Deceit. He was inspired to his pursuit by his childhood reading of "Deceit: Dungeon of Horrors," the famous work by a mostly unknown mercenary named Justin.

He got his wish, and his research was funded by the Crown.

The Crown, unfortunately for him and everyone else, was held at the time by the traitorous Lord Casca.

In the course of his expedition, Mr. Drake found support for his oft-held suspicion that, quoting from his discovered "Notes on Deceit," "Deceit was once a temple to forgotten powers of old. And it was taken over by mages who eventually were driven out." His work strongly suggests that the "forgotten power" was Faulinei, the Shadowlord of Falsehood.

Mr. Drake's investigations led to evidence of a hidden room in Deceit, a room in which "King Pro Tempere" Casca showed an unhealthy interest. Mr. Drake's work also eventually led to a device, the nature of which this author couldn't determine, but it seems to have had something to do with Moongates.

Drake was eventually imprisoned by Casca, and commented on Casca's strangely dual nature, the kind captor one moment and the cruel torturer the next. Fortunately, Drake left for the Royal Spies instructions on how to destroy Casca's device.

Walter Drake is now, seemingly, dead. One of a long list of Casca's victims.
