My name is Tess
Midnight, and I’m writing
this so my friends aren’t
forgotten. Martyna or
James should be writing
this, but they are both
gone, killed holding the
Castle, I think. I forgot
so much these days.
Halhan and explained it is
the sickness, killing the
mind and will first. I saw
it reduce so many of us
to madness. I hope
Witchy Woman and
Crazy Carrier are still
alive and searching for a
cure, but I doubt it. The
Cult of the Abyss
unleashed the disease
early on. Poor Heartwood.
Poor Yew. The brave
judge Ra’Dian ordering
the quarantine, knowing it
meant so many deaths,
including his own. The
Yew riots just spread it,
the refugees bringing the
sickness with them.
Demons of a type I do
not know attacked our
cities. We lost a lot of
warriors in that, Galen,
Thanatos Angelos, Buffy,
Chronicles, and Ginger I
think. Oh, and my sweet
Magnus. I saw him walking
past the other day,
animated by some dark
magic. I know that
angered Arhonest,
SKULLCLEAVER, and
neptune, sent them off
on that desperate mission.
I wish I knew how it
went. Itty Bitty Kitty
says we are out of
food. We don’t have any
flying scouts since Ter
Mur was swallowed by the
Void. Lynch and Ramadar
were the last ones I
think. Malag-aste,
Xetaryn, and River are
the last guards we have.
I know Malag-aste is still
upset I stopped him from
going back to the castle.
I hear screams now. I
guess this is it. So many
regrets. If only we’d
remembered Dexter...
