Redcap is a smuggler, known largely because he became a comparatively minor player in the pirate war between Maggie the Red and the Pirate King Smith, which became known as the War of the Blood Coast. Though he at first worked for the Pirate King, it seems that at some point Redcap became the Pirate King's prisoner. He was freed by, and gave information to, representatives of the Britannian Government, specifically the Royal Guard and the Royal Spies. As far as is known, he is still alive, and still smuggling. Whether or not his life will prove to have a second use remains to be seen.
