Gender: Male
Location: Last seen in the Stygian Dragon's castle in the Abyss
Alignment: Chaotic

Bio:
Bartholomew is a daemonic researcher who was looking for an ancient tome regarding the lineage of the daemonic species. Andrew, servant of Astaroth, had promised to deliver this tome if the daemons of Hythloth joined the Shadow Army in its attack on Yew.
When the Shadowlord's puppet failed to live up to this promise, Bartholomew voted to end involvement in the war and traveled to Ver Lor Reg looking for more information about bloodlines.
He has since been seen on several occasions. He seems to have some kind of odd scholar-in-residence arrangement with whatever unknown entities run the libraries in the Stygian Abyss. He has helped the Royal Spies a few times, against the Brothers of Valor and the undead Poxcrafter. It is also, however, clear that he is not "good" in any meaningful sense of the term. A "good" demon would be a rare thing indeed.
The "Strange Bird," which had previously served as Casca's foul, vile informant, worked for Bartholomew for a period of time. Among other duties, it carried information both ways between him and the Royal Spies. The bird, however, ultimately betrayed Bartholomew for the simple reason that so doing created more corpses, from which it could pluck, and consume, eyes. Bartholomew usually sought to exact a high price from the Spies for any assistance he offered. The Spies learned quickly and began to find other ways to achieve their ends without dealing with the foul Bartholomew.
Bartholomew met a violent and sadly temporary end in the mysterious gargoyle dungeon of Xenve An-amo-lem. He and the spies were in a desperate race against time, and one another, to retrieve the ancient demonic text known as the Principia Daemonis. When the Spies won the race, Bartholomew resorted to a physical attack, proving himself to be a capable foe. He was, however, ultimately defeated. Information strongly suggests that Bartholomew will sooner or later reconstitute himself and begin his foul work anew.
