~Elemental Needs~
Flames lick at the darkness
Screaming "feed me"
"Feed me and I will give you light"
"Feed me and I will give you warmth"
The fire settles, waiting.
"Fire, I need more" I say
I need protection from my enemies
And protection from your harm.
I tease the fire with a branch
letting it savour the food.
"What do you say fire?"
"I gladly agree"
"But I am one in a world of many
I will do you no harm
But the others will consume you!"
