Title: Demonic Religions, Vol. I
Author: Sigmel of Umbra
Early writings speak of a
great demonic temple,
built on an island given
to the demons by fire.
This likely refers to one
of the many volcanic
islands in the seas of
Britannia. The temple was
held to be very important
to the demonic civilization.
Demonic texts have called
the place a great
sacrificial altar, a field
of battle, a meeting place
of worlds, and a fiery
summit.
Demons do not generally worship beings of greater power than themselves. They have been known to make alliances with such beings, for power or an excuse for war. I assume that this temple was not built to worship some other power, though important war councils with other evil creatures may have taken place there. I believe the temple was to devoted to the greatness of demonkind. This fits with other reports where demons view themselves as some sort of penultimate living creation.
