Title: The Absolute Way

All Juka know of the Way. It is not merely a code of Honor; it is the lifeblood of our people. It is about unshakeable courage and burning honesty to the Juka people and one's self. It is also about knowing the Enemy and never forgetting who they are.

The Juka have lost their way. We have become a bloodless band of hired thugs. Rather than standing against the Enemy, we sell our swords and bows as common mercenaries. As this generation comes to a end, our Great Hall of Honor will lie empty as our dead face oblivion.

Our warlords speak of returning to Balance with the Enemy. They believe insanity came from our work with Exodus andthe burning of the Meer forest. They believe anarchy came from battle beside the belching golems and poisonous betrayers of Blackthorn. They believe the Juka people confused wanton cruelty with Valor. I disagree. I do not believe we went far enough against the Enemy!

For the Enemy betrayed Balance and dishonored the Way as much as any true Juka. Their arrogance always lead to prejudice against our people. While the Juka starved in a wasteland, their forest and magics could have fed both peoples with ease! Even when our desperation lead to honorable combat against them, they turned our attacks away with magic and tricks! They treated us with disdain and apathy, refusing to respect us as a real threat until we destroyed the source of their power. Then, in an act of pure ruthlessness, they unleashed a spell that would have destroyed us all, Juka and Meer!

While I will never bow to something as unnatural as Exodus or be lead by anyone but Juka-born, I do know that how things ended was inevitable. Had there been no Exodus, we would have eventually destroyed the forest and perished to the unfeeling Enemy. We now have a second chance. It has taken us time to throw off the chains that came with this second chance.

I tell you that we must devote ourselves again to the Way, but we must strive for more than Balance. We must fill our hearts with the Absolute Way! If we respect our enemy at all, we must understand that their complete and total destruction is necessary. We devote ourselves to Juka superiority. To show humility is deceit against our lifeblood. Above all, every moment of a Juka's life must be devoted to combating the Enemy, courage through blood alone, theirs or ours.
