Title: Sandlewood Poets - Quinn
Author: SB Poetry Contest
This poem was taken from the May 27th Sandlewood Box Poetry Contest as recited by it's author:
-Quinn-
2nd Place
Magic filled the morning's sky
Their energies bring both death and life.
Sword flashed and arrow flew,
Blood mixed with the morning's dew.
Bodies strewn across the forest floor,
Wind echos the cries of war.
Great and virtuous warriors who were felled,
Along with spawn from the depths of hell.
A lone warrior stood battered and blue,
His head hung low, sword broken in two.
Rain fell from a darkening sky
As silent tear drops fell from his eyes
For the virtuous souls who suffered and died.
Now his sword gathers rust as it hangs on the wall
And when memory returns the tears still fall.
