The Awakening: Ilshenar

This part of the Awakening arc started on March 1st, 2012 with the EM-written story The Awakening - Act II.

Speaking with Shirron Argahrok

ShirronArgahrok.jpg
This 'quest' begins at the entrance to Ver Lor Reg with a trail of blood leading into the city. The trail leads through the city to the In-Mani-Lem healers where you can find Shirron Argahrok (89o 54'N 31o 38'W).

Greetings

  • I am Shirron Argahrok, and I greet you with Respect and Honor, adventurer. I wonder can you help
    • Help
      • My faithful Waymaster, Harlann, has been severely injured during the catastrophe that befell us.
        • Catastrophe
          • I am unsure its cause, but many of our people died. Our nightmares became reality.
        • Injured
          • With my people scattered, I have nobody to face the dangers necessary for the cure.
            • Cure
              • The cure can only be made with certain ingredients... one is found in blood dungeon.
                • Blood Dungeon
                  • There is a creature in its depths known as a purifying blood elemental... its blood is key.
                    • Creature
                      • If you can help by bringing a sample of the purified blood from them, I’ll reward you.
                        • Reward
                          • I can show you the ways of climbing and give you equipment to scale the mountain.
                            • Mountain
                              • I do not know what lies there after the catastrophe... but there must be something left.

Left Note: Waymaster Harlann can be found north of the Shirron, however, she is apparently unconscious.

Blood Dungeon

Left
SampleOfPurifiedBlood.jpg
Complying with the Shirron's request requires traveling to the southern room in Ilshenar's Blood Dungeon. There you will encounter the Purifying Blood Elementals amongst the predator hellcats.

These blood elementals have the ability to pull users of ranged attacks (or the masters of pets and summons) to them, but do not appear to have any other special attacks. Their loot is sub-par for the encounter, but you are guaranteed a drop of 'Samples of purified blood.' The samples are a red-hued rack of vials with a 24-hour timer.

Return to Shirron Argahrok

Hand the Samples of Purified Blood to the Shirron. (Drop on NPC)

  • This will aid greatly. As promised seek the famous mountain climber. Tell him the Shirron sent you

Speak to Carl the Mountain Climber

CarlTheMountainClimber2.jpg
Carl can be found in the gypsy encampment south of the Compassion Shrine in Ilshenar (94o 39'N 6o 53'W)
  • Greetings
    • Did you hear that!? I don't know what happened but the blasted mountain nearly collapsed!
      • The Shirron sent me
        • Let me know when you are ready to learn. I am sure the Loremasters await an answer.
          • Loremasters
            • I am sure whatever you find over there would be of interest to the Juka and Meer.
              • Juka
                • The Jukan Loremaster can be found near Mistas.
              • Meer
                • The Meer Loremaster can be found near Lakeshire.
          • I'm ready
            • Let me show you how this is done... a real natural! There is some equipment by the mountain to use

Saying climb near the "climbing gear" (looks like a horse bridal) near Carl teleports you into Central Ilshenar by the caved-in tunnel which used to lead to the gypsy camp. There is another climbing gear there that will take you back to the encampment if you say climb again.

Grave Robbers Galore

GraveRobber.jpg
The Jukan fortress has indeed been destroyed and the area is littered with corpses. There are also Juka wandering about, interspersed with 'grave robbers.'

The grave robbers are red named humans with a beefed-up executioner damage reflect power (typically delivering 30ish damage) and the ability to deliver paralyzing blows. Their loot is extremely unrewarding for their difficulty, but you are guaranteed a Jukan or a Meer artifact.

These artifacts are hued and have a 24-hour timer.

Known Artifact types:

JukanHeirlooms.jpg
Jukan:

Ancient Jukan Armor
Ancient Jukan Waymaster Bow
Charred Jukan Historical Scroll
Jukan Bones
Jukan Heirloom Vase
Jukan Tapestry
Jukan Urn
Keg of Jukan Ale, Mead, Wine
Ruined Jukan Tome

MeerHeirlooms.jpg
Meer:

Ancient Meer Armor
Ancient Meer Eternal Staff
Charred Meer Historical Scroll
Keg of Meer Ale, Mead, Wine
Meer Bones
Meer Heirloom Vase

Note: Killing the jukan in the fortress 'crater' does not negatively impact Jukan loyalty.

The Loremasters

The Juka

LoremasterErksine.jpg
Jukan Loremaster Erksine can be found in Mistas Regsit just southwest of the main entrance into Mistas (42o 32'N 39o 56'W). Near him sits a chest named 'Heirlooms' which you place the items collected from the grave robbers. Each item gains you 50 loyalty points.
  • Greetings
    • I am the Juka Loremaster and I greet you with Respect and Honor.
      • Loremaster
        • These are most uncertain times for the Juka.
          • Uncertain times
            • In an instant our people all had the same nightmare, a great war with the Meer.
              • Great war
                • Our fortress was destroyed, where it once stood is now a crater.
                  • Fortress
                    • There was a great flash and the ground shook. In an instant all our Heirlooms were destroyed.
                      • Heirlooms
                        • I fear they may be lost forever. Should find any and return them I shall reward thee.
                          • Reward
                            • Place them in the storage chest. Prove your loyalty and you can claim a token of your devotion.

The Meer

LoremasterAdair.jpg
Meer Loremaster Adair can be found near the center of Lakeshire (43o 19'N 9o 59'W). Near him sits a chest named 'Heirlooms' which you place the items collected from the grave robbers. Each item gains you 50 loyalty points.
  • Greetings
    • Greetings traveler, these are most uncertain times for the Meer.
      • Uncertain times
        • In an instant our people all had the same nightmare, a great war with the Juka.
          • Great war
            • Our forest was burned to the ground, many of our brothers and sisters died.
              • Forest
                • I had a vision of a forest on the other side of the mountain. Many of our Heirlooms were lost.
                  • Heirlooms
                    • I fear they may be lost forever. Should you find any and return them I shall reward thee.

                        • Place them in the storage chest. Prove your loyalty and you can claim a token of your devotion.

Loyalty Points

You may help BOTH the Juka and the Meer without negatively affecting your loyalty to the other, unlike past loyalty-based events.

Currently, there are two reward items from both the Juka and the Meer. They are statues of their respective warrior and mage classes.

Mage statues cost 5,000 loyalty points, while Warrior statues cost 10,000 loyalty points.

It is presently unknown if any of these statues have a use beyond decor.
