Title: Labour Two
Author: Hercules's Thoughts
On the way to my second labor, loyal admirers insisted on joining me in my quest. We ventured into the heart of the Abyss, there to find the fearsome Hydra! Long did I fight the foul-breathed one. Each time I cut off one of its heads, it would re-grow as I fought the next one. It seemed that my career as a hero was to die before it began. Then, my compassion in allowing others to join me bore unexpected fruit. One of my companions suggested that if I splashed poison on the stump, a head could not grow back! He proved correct, and the beast was slain, never to return!
