A few crumpled pages
with jagged edges where
they'd been clumsily ripped
from a cookbook.

Vesper Crusted Barbecue
Spareribs
Ingredients:
2 lbs. beef short ribs
1/2 cup honey
1 cup mustard
1/4 cup rum
2 tbls. salt
1/8 tsp. freshly-ground
black pepper
3 tsp. lemon juice
Preparation:
In a medium bowl, combine
honey, mustard, salt,
pepper, and lemon juice.
Stir well.
Cut spareribs into sections of two ribs apiece. Using a pastry brush, spread the sauce evenly.
Place spareribs on a grill over hot coals. Cover with a thin metal foil. Grill for one hour. Turn.
Grill until done. The sauce should form a thick mustard crust.
This is a food you may eat with your hands.
Serves 4.
