Today was a good day. I
managed to filch some
sausages and get a job
unloading a boat for a
man in dark plate. He
tipped me well after he
made me promise not to
marry an elf. I crossed
my fingers and promised.
No elves on the island
and I don’t intend to
marry, so the jokes on
him. The boxes were
heavy like they were
filled with swords. I
managed to open one
when his back was turned
and got me a fancy tool
for cracking coconuts.

I borrowed a few things
from the tavern today. It
was sort of fun slipping
in and getting enough
food for a week. I need
to be careful though. The
thieves guild won’t
appreciate my “work,”
and neither will the city
watch.

My father got taken in
by Lord Trinolan today
for debts unpaid. I hate
that he owns this land
because he is a corrupt
tax collector! I don’t
have the money to get
my father out of
debtor’s prison, so he
may be forced to work
for Lord Trinolan for a
bit. I took a few shifts
at the crystal mine
hoping to pay for his
release.

I hate Lord Trinolan. He
broke half a dozen laws
selling my father to this
Pemenard, but not like
nobs ever follow their
own laws. I tried to buy
my father’s freedom with
Pemanard’s own gold, but
the man figured out the
trick. He offered me a
choice: death or a little
“work.” I think
“work” sounds fun…

I got this moldy book
from the gargoyles. It
was sort of fun
travelling there and back.
Now I need to take the
natural moongate to
Ilshenar! Some of
Pemenard’s men would
meet me and take me to
a real brigand city! Maybe
I can make this adventure
a regular thing.
