Title: Carthax Lake
Author: Jeram the Wise
While much of the power
of the great elementals
rests in places unknown
inside the Void, there
exist places where some
of their power remains,
trapped and bound to be
used by those with the
knowledge and the will.
While I have spoken
already on the Fault of
Lithos, another place is
rumored to exist in the
lands of Lord British. The
place is Carthax Lake.
The myth speaks of a group of mages who struck a deal with the titan of water, Hydros, for great power. These Tempests practiced the magic of Hydros, called Tempestry. They could create great storms and waves, causing all who lived by the ocean to tremble at their name.
One of their great
leaders grew arrogant and
tried to trap Hydros in
Carthax Lake. While he
managed to trap part of
the Titan in the waters
there and control it with
the Tear of the Sea, he
did not know the curse.
He and all who followed
him drowned, and in
death, they were
awakened to continue
their vigil of Carthax
Lake. They wait for a
time when rivers and
streams will reconnect
the Lake to the great
oceans, when Hydros will
return to drown the
world.
I believe that this
location exists north of
the eastern gates of
Delucia at 60 degrees
South 40 degrees West.
I have tried to visit this
location, but strange
undead scared me away.
Are these the final
Tempests?
