Title: Reliquary

The task of this catalog has fallen to me as caretaker of the great demon histories.

Demons are powerful creatures, but we are not immortal. Even the greatest of our kind can die, though the spells and means to do this are beyond most mortals. I will discuss what happens to a demon when their flesh fails them. The body of a demon and the soul do not die at the same time. When the flesh is torn by spell or sword, the demonic spirit is released and travels into the Ethereal Void. Some weak and pathetic demons remain there as dissipating whimpers. Others choose to use their power to travel the Void to other hunting grounds. Others still choose to steal, borrow, or create a new form for themselves.

When a great demon's flesh is no longer being used, it is sometimes our practice to construct magical items from the tissues. Why should the magic go to waste to feed worms and insects when it could be used for more practical and malicious ends?

I do not have time to discuss the creation of such relics, but I will catalog a few...

The Coals of UroBul - UroBul will be remembered for one of the demons who brought our servants, the An-Kal-Lem, into our service. His fire still burns in their veins, making them kin to our kind.

UroBul's magic was a ritual to turn his own blood or the blood of the damned into an oil that could be used for all manner of spell. It was this blood fire that he infused to the soul of the An-Kal-Lem. It is the source of their power. As they grow in age and might, their blood itself burns away, leaving only a cursed husk. They are the bloodless.

When he died, his body was converted to charcoal. For a time it was used for rituals by the An-Kal-Lem mystics. The coals were lost when a group of mages from Shame gained them in a deal with a powerful demon. The group uses the coals for ritual branding to enhance their powers.

The Teeth of AtoDit - While AtoDit was only a friend to demons, the dragon's reputation and power will never be forgotten. He was also involved in the fall of the An-Kal-Lem and others. His teeth are supposedly so sharp, they create cuts deep enough to touch the spirit or soul of a creature. It is believed this is how UroBul's blood was able to join with the gargoyles.

It is believed that one tooth ended up in a great demonic halberd, the Blight of IxaKaz, but that weapon is lost to the Void as far as I know.

The rest remain in the possession of AtoDit's brother, a black dragon that uses Doom as a Lair.
