Title: Medicinal Flora
Author: Hulderic of Yew
Compassion sage (Salvia
pietas):
A rare root found in the region of Ilshenar. Known for its pungent aroma and delicate leaf. Once incorrectly labeled as “Lover’s Leaf,” in the hands of a capable alchemist has the capacity to induce a sense of well being. Also used as a cure for night terrors in small children, the herb is highly sought after by mothers and nannies across the continents. The potion is also helpful to healers who wish to perfect their craft, imbuing those who eat the leaf or drink teas made from its leaves with a greater sense of empathy.
This relatively rare herb is difficult to cultivate, but some stronger seedlings can be found in central Ilshenar. The Controllers of Exodus have been known to brew potions from it to protect their minds when interacting with the inhuman sleeper of the fortress. This potion is almost exactly the same as the recipe used by the gypsy peoples of Ilshenar’s Compassion shrine, though easier to prepare using local swamp-grown strains of the herb.
For gardening, seeds can be difficult to obtain. Some clever parties simply take the seeds from creatures that gather large amounts of seeds by their nature, sorting the seeds afterwards.
