Once in Brittania,
when the world was
not of our moons and
monsters plagued our
cities. There was a
kingdom built as
Drakehome in the
valley northeast of
Yew. It was from this
kingdom that a noble
warrior named
Landrake took fame.

Landrake was an
ambitious boy,
learning the ways of
the sword as well as
the ways of magick
with the same
strength and stamina.
His journeys would
lead him to all the land
around his home and
soon to his fatefull
encounter.
Twas a walk in a
forest much like all
others. He lay a few
harts out for food and
feasted at his camp
for a short time
before continuing out.
Here in the forest
stood a grand mage,
marked as the highest
trained by the
markings on his
robes. His hair fell
down unrestrained
against the back of his
neck. His feet and
hands glowed bare.
There was powerfull
magic in the air,
Landrake could feel
the mana rushing
around him.
He knew not of the
consequences for
disturbing the man
however. And
before Vandrake
could finish his
greeting, the ritual
ended with a few last
words muttered from
the mage's mouth, a
spell long forgotten or
never learned by
todays mages, "Vas La
Co".

Suddenly the
leaves kicked up, the
heat from the small
meadow rose to nearly
burn the hairs on
Landrake's hand.
There standing in
the placed that the
mage seemed to be once
was a monster whose
sights have been
nightmares in the
eyes of our children
for years. The beast
was half-dragon, that
much was apparent,
but twas the glow of
his eye and the
thickness of his skin
that showed his other
half- Daemon.
It eyed the small
warrior for a moment,
a laugh played about
it's lips. It turned on
it's wretched feet and
started for Landrake.
Thus a game of cat and
mouse began.

Landrake stayed a
few steps ahead,
knowing that when
the monster had it's
fun it would use the
power that came
natural to it... magic. Landrake burst
through the trees and
started across a
clearing, he could see
the water come into
view on the horizion-
the mast of a boat
ready to carry Landrake to safety. A
fallen log caught his
foot. The taste of dirt
and grass hit his
mouth. He felt the
sharp breath of the
monster on his neck.
In a burst of his energy, perhaps in
knowing his death
was near, he swung
his sword with all his
might and struck the
monster. Black blood
ran down the youth's
hand. A fit of rage
rushed forth from
the mouth of the
Deamon-drake.

"La co e neeno"
Landrake knew not
how the words came to
him, nor what they
meant but the flash of light and the
appearance of a
shadow brought the
warrior to his feet.
He stood ready to
attack this new
creature .

"Young one", the shadow spoke with a
strange calmness,

"Ye 'ave a destiny my
child, a gift that
makes ye more
powerful than a
Grandmaster. Ye are
our chance to take back our lands."

It is said that the
shadow gave Landrake
the secret to his
destiny.
Throughout his life
Landrake battled the
forces of evil in the land. His journeys
are passed through
the Drake lineage with
each venture into the
forest.
