 Hipolati’s shamans had successfully preformed the rituals required to enter the mind of the addled Hercules.  Each member of the Guard received a set of ‘Mind Climber Claws’ which would allow them entry and exit from the man’s psyche.

 Confronted by the Guard with their magical claws, Hercules fell into a deep sleep which opened his mind to them.  Entering a surreal fantasy world, the Guard found Hercules had idealized his deranged actions.   They fought their way through twisted aspects of Hercules’s consciousness, eventually arriving in a room containing his memories represented as books.  The final task the Guards faced was to defeat the magic of the cursed olive-wood club which had warped this man’s mind for so long.

		+	Commander Keel and the Guard returned to Hipolati to listen to a story which might shed light on the actions of Hercules. The Savage Queen said that an ancient warrior of her tribe, named Danl, once defeated a ‘strange tribe’ and won an olive tree from which a club was crafted. Unfortunately, the wood was cursed, causing Danl to do ‘many stupid things’ believing he was a great hero.

		+	Eventually the tribe’s shaman performed a ritual which allowed them to enter Danl’s mind and remove the club’s influence. Believing a similar ritual would help Hercules, Hipolati directed the Guards to the Ilshenarian Ant Lion to learn what would be needed.

		+	The Ant Lion informed the Guard that the first ingredient required could be obtained from the Daughters of Justice and promptly opened a gate.

		+	The Daughters deduced the Guard would need one of the golden apples, but of course Hercules had already stolen them. Apparently he had taken them to Wrong where he thought they would grow into trees. When the Guard went looking for the apples, they found hostile mutant plant creatures. Eventually, three apples were recovered and returned to the pixies. In reward, the Guards received the Apple of Balance.

		+	The next item the Ant Lion sent the Guards after was ‘the heart of one who could war against their own siblings.’ The wise Ant Lion revealed that the veterinarian, Rosumund, who helped the Guard defeat the Mares of Jhelom, was actually their sibling. She wanted their hearts so she could transform into a mare herself. The Guard found and slew Rosamund, delivering her heart to the Ant Lion.

		+	The last ingredient was something the guard already possessed, the blood of a hydra which Commander Keel stored in the V.R.G. Training Hall. When the Guards arrived to collect it, they encountered several of Geryon’s mercenaries who were swiftly defeated.

		+	All three items were given to Hipolati who said her shaman would prepare to perform the ritual to enter the mind of Hercules in one week.

		+	Commander Keel informed the V.R.G. that she had received two curious notes from Ilshenar regarding Hercules. The first came from Hipolati the Queen of the Savages, while the second came from an antiquities dealing ettin named Geryon.

		+	The Guard traveled to the gargoyle shrine north of the savage for in Ilshenar to meet with Hipolati. She informed them that her golden belt, the symbol of her authority, had been stolen. She believed that Geryon had stolen her belt and had gone to confront him. Geryon told her that Hercules had taken the belt and thus she contacted Commander Keel for help.

		+	The Guard then went to the Twin Oaks Tavern to ask Geryon about the unruly demigod. The ettin admitted that he had attempted to acquire the belt, as he believed such a fine treasure shouldn’t be left with savages. He said he had paid Hercules in cattle and deer to get the belt, but the erstwhile ‘hero’ took the payment and ran. Geryon asked that the Guard track down Hercules and the belt, which he requested be brought back to him.

		+	A brigand tavern keeper named Leinas at The Deuce's Vinculum Inn pointed the guard towards Mistas. Herules camp was located just west of the Jukan city along the river. Part of a cookbook lay in the dirt, barely intelligible scrawl on what was left of the pages. The book indicated that Hercules didn’t steal the belt because he believed himself a hero.

		+	The Guards returned to Hipolati and explained the situation, Geryon was the true thief. The Savage Queen led the Guards to a small fort south of the Compassion Shrine where Geryon admitted to his theft and ordered his orcish minions to attack before recalling away.

		+	When the battle ended, Hipolati triumphantly recovered her belt and thanked the Guards.
