I do not remember much,
but I was born mortal
and human. I knew the
sea. I was a captain, a
pirate. There was a
mutiny. My body was
broken by the sea and by
mutineers� magic. I did
not die. I could not die. I
drifted for months, my
flesh food for fish and
shark. I vowed revenge in
my pain and suffering. I
found land and eventually
a ship and crew. The
mutineers tasted death at
my hand, but my rage did
not end there. A pirate
in life and now in death,
I was a force of nature,
like storm or wave. The
waters I frequented were
called the Blood Coast.
My crew was as afraid
of me as any merchant
ship sailor. I should have
been more careful. In
terror, they were
desperate in cause and
action. We were loading
the island tunnels with
gold and gem, when they
bound me in chains and
walled me in. While
undead and deadly, I was
weaker than iron. I
rattled the chains for
months or years, filling
the nearby tunnels with
my torment. Eventually, I
gave up and waited,
waited the years as the
chains stoned over with
tiny water droplets,
waited as the islands
moved and sank, waited
so long, in pain, in rage.
He found me, this beggar,
this pauper. He promised
me a ship and a sword
and the means to take
revenge on the families
and distant relations of
those who harmed me. To
see blood again after all
these years, for I have
none left...
