The <br /> Cauldron is actually <br /> misnamed. Those who are <br /> “reborn” cannot talk <br /> nor think on their own, <br /> since they are simply <br /> animated by magic. The <br /> artifact was the creation <br /> of a necromancer demon <br /> who found humanoid <br /> undead fascinating. <br /> Unfortunately for <br /> demonkind and himself, he <br /> was able to animate <br /> demons as well. While <br /> normally, it would amuse <br /> us to see you attacked <br /> by undead, since the army <br /> would be kidnaped and <br /> slain demons, we are less <br /> than amused. <br /> The Cauldron of Rebirth <br /> has one major flaw. It <br /> simply requires a great <br /> deal of magic to animate <br /> something to a state <br /> equal to life. The <br /> animated corpse has no <br /> soul, but none of the <br /> weakness. This magic must <br /> come from a particular <br /> form of mana, corruption. <br /> Normally, it takes months <br /> to gather enough spite <br /> and bite and malevolence <br /> to charge the cauldron. <br /> <br /> Unfortunately, the <br /> Shadowlords and their <br /> human servants cast <br /> powerful spells, allowing <br /> more corruption to bleed <br /> into our world. The Cult <br /> is merely gorging <br /> themselves on this to <br /> feed the Cauldron and <br /> likely for other ends, like <br /> summoning their master. I <br /> do not know the location <br /> where the corruption is <br /> bleeding through, but I do <br /> believe a leyline is a <br /> likely location. <br /> Leylines are powerful <br /> alignments of places of <br /> mystical interest that <br /> resonate with mana. While <br /> usually, the locations of <br /> interest are related to <br /> the type of mana <br /> produced, the last year’s <br /> spells have changed a lot. <br /> Casca was remarkably <br /> good at shifting a few <br /> leylines while completely <br /> destroying your <br /> infrastructure.
