The Money King is a strange figure indeed.  He is some kind of monkey or ape or gorilla leader or chieftan, and it's unclear if his "Kingdom" is others of his kind or if the title is honorary or if he rules over something else entirely.  What is clear is that he was the guardian of a highly-prized weapon, an artifact of Tokuno's always-present past.  This artifact was sought by both the Bane Chosen and the Secret Service of Britannia, in both cases for the purpose of securing the alliance of a particular tribe of Oni demons.  Or, at least, for keeping them neutral in the looming conflict between Britannia and the Bane Chosen's master, the vile, ambitious demon lord known as Virtuebane.  The Monkey King put both sides to a martial test.  The Britannian Secret Service won, the Bane Chosen lost, and thus Britannia had an edge in negotiations with the Oni tribe being courted.
