Geoffrey is a near-mythic hero of Britannia, once a rumored-companion of The Stranger/The Avatar (the off-world hero who slew Mondain). He stands for the City of Jhelom and the Virtue of Valor. He also has some kind of high position in the Royal Guard. He is sometimes referred to as "Captain" but it is unknown if the rank is real, or honorary. He has been involved in several grand affairs, including the hunt for the Book of Truth after an attack on the Lycaeum, various fights against Minax and her forces, and other grand matters.

He was most recently seen distributing rewards for those who sought to become Queen Dawn's Ranger of the Abyss.

Like most mythic figures or near-mythic figures, Geoffrey isn't necessarily as-reliable as more "normal" people are. He comes and goes at will, and seemingly at random. At the very least, his comings and goings are not tied to any observable factor.

That he will be around when he's truly needed is indeed all that can be hoped for or had faith in, according to one's bent.
