Emerson is a Spy who has the distinction of being, along with her sister Jenessa, assigned to a listening post near the entrance to the Dungeon Doom in Malas.  The post was attacked by the An-Kal-Lem, on behalf of the Demon Conclave.  In a misguided attempt to keep his sister safe, as if someone could be kidnapped by demons and still be safe in any kind of meaingful sense, Emerson tried to keep information from investigators until some smacks reminded him that his duty, and his sister's best interests, lay with telling what had happened.  His sister was eventually rescued and the two were reuinted. 

The ravagings of Demonkind take their toll on all whom they encounter, and even many they do not encounter.
