Kurai Kabuto is a rune beetle, the loyal pet of Inu the Crone. When Inu was kidnapped, Kurai Kabuto attempted to tap out messages for us to help us understand what had happened to its mistress and where she had gone. Because it is a rune beetle, however, communication proved difficult. It referred to Inu as "the feeder," which would question the degree of attachment it had for its mistress, but other statements it attempted to crudely make suggested a certain amount of petly affection.<br />
<br />
Kurai Kabuto's story is actually rather tragic, as currently it sits in its Mistress's desert hut, awaiting for her return which may never come, as she is wandering Moonglow in an endless circle, fueled by an insanity that's the product of her exposure to the Shadowlords' attempts to enter our realm through the Ethereal Void. It can be presumed that the beetle finds ways to feed itself and will live out the rest of its days in longing loneliness; one of many victims of the Shadowlords; a reminder to us that evil cannot be reasoned, bargained, or negotiated with, or appeased.<br />
