Baba Yaga, also known as Jadwiga Marinova, is a creature of myth and legend, a witch the stores of which are sometimes used to frighten children to sleep.  The stories of her are many.  In some of the stories she eats children, but in the version taught to the baby platinum dragon Mirendel, she was a tad less sinister and ate bunny rabbits.  In most she resided in a hut that somehow rested on chicken legs, and was sometimes known as the "dancing hut." 

Whether or not Baba Yaga ever actually existed is open for debate.  What is certain, however, is that Mirendel was convinced enough in the witch's existence that, on the holiday of Easter, Mirendel in effect dreamed the witch, complete with her "dancing hut" on chicken legs.  Mirendel also "banquished" the witch to a turnip field where she would learn to eat turnips instead of bunnies.  Mirendel thus set off a strange if, so far, harmless adventure.

Whether or not it will remain harmless forever is not yet known.  Frightenningly, also not known is if Baba Yaga's existence continued after Mirendel's strange fantasy subsided.
