So far as this author is aware, Geryon is the one-known example of the Ettin race that is not-civilized. He does, however, share the malign selfishness of his race.

Geryon stole a sacred belt belonging to Hipolati, a Queen of a Savage Tribe in Central Ilshenar. He had either used the would-be "hero" Hercules in the theft, or had managed to frame the theft on Hercules (exactly which is unclear), though Hercules's crimes were by this point already quite-sufficient without adding to them.

He managed to escape the wrath of the Royal Guard on at least one occasion, and his orc guards were seen at least twice.

+By profession, Geryon is an antiques dealer.  His ethics are virtually non-existent.  It appears he will literally buy and sell anything, and has been oft-known to out-and-out steal his wares.  (One can easily imagine him stealing something and then selling it back to its original owner while barely feigning innocence.)  Geryon survives by the skin of his two sets of teeth, by acquiring favors at exactly the right moment from exactly the right people.
