Cruorlem was one of 3 high-ranking staff members of Erah, the sister of Gargoyle Queen Zhah of Ter Mur. (The other 2 being Aklem the warrior and Terinlem the architect.) Erah, wanting do to her own thing, had established a Gargoyle colony in Terra Sanctum in the Lost Lands. And, there, she ran into a little trouble. Specifically, it turned out that the colony healer, Cruorlem, was a member of the An-Kal-Lem cult; evil, vile traitors to the Gargish way. Cruorlem had agreed to give Erah's blood to the Demon Conclave, who needed Zhah's blood for a foul ritual and thought Erah's might work instead.
