Ceija the Gypsy is a seemingly-normal or average gypsy encountered by a group of pilgrims re-enacting the journey of Brialla of the Seven Tears, an early Britannian explorer.  She told the story of Brialla from the gypsy point of view, which made Brialla look rather less good, less noble, than Britannian legend described her. 

However, the pilgrim re-enactors discovered on that journey what appears to have been the truth, and it was something rather closer to the Brtitannian version of events.

Sometimes, the legend is more true than the counter-myths that would tear town legends, and heroes.
